What is the Student Forum?

The Industrial Electronics Society Student Forum (IES-SF) is a great opportunity for engineering students and recently graduated engineers to present their research work on Industrial Electronics and related areas. The IES-SF is an activity specially thought for young engineers and its aim is to get in touch with many international students and recently graduated from universities and enterprises.

What benefits do I get from the IES-SF?

  • Reduced inscription fee (20,000 JPY) for one day Student Forum
(for young engineers student and just graduated student only).
If you have a PhD or Professor as a co-author you have to pay regular fee (80,000 JPY) before September 15 and (100,000 JPY) after September 16, 2015.
  • Young Engineers' Oral and Poster Sessions to present your research projects and results.
  • Awards for the best paper and poster (award: 750$)!
  • Special tutorials conducted by distinguished world-class young lecturers.
  • Young engineers' Students Banquet.
  • Friendly debates with young colleagues and companies about topics directly related to your professional future.
  • Papers form IES-SF will be included in IEEExplore.
  • An extraordinary IES-SF deadline: 31-st of August, 2015.

May I join?

Students registered in engineering courses (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) and also recently graduated engineers (max two years since graduation) are strongly encouraged to join the IES-SF. There are the way to participate in the IES-SF:

a) Presenting original results from their research works in the Young Engineers' Oral Session.

Topics are not limited but they will match with the scope of the IECON. It is worth to point out that only students can be authors (if reduced fee 20,000 JPY is required) papers co-authored by PhD and/or Prof. has to pay full registration fee. Professors are allowed appearing as co-authors only when regular fee will be paid.

All papers in the IES-SF will be taken into account in a competition (two awards $750USD will be founded). We are strongly encourage students to participate in this enriching experience and supervise the quality of the submitted works.

Students participating in the IES-SF will enjoy the reduced inscription fee. Students' activities will be concentrated in only one day for reducing the overall costs of attending the IES-SF. However, students are allowed to attend most of the activities of the IECON.

Students with a regular registration for the IECON will have a free registration for the IES-SF as well.

How can I participate in the IES-SF?

Authors should submit a copy of their full paper, in English, with 6 pages maximum, (including figures) using IEEE IES IECON2015-Yokohama Manuscript Submission System and selecting Student Forum [SF] as technical track. Papers should follow the IEEE double-column format (A4 size). Standard IEEE conference templates are found here: www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html.
